Asset Integrity Junior Inspector

OCI Nitrogen Iowa is looking for a qualified Asset Integrity Junior Inspector to join our Inspection Team full time in Wever, Iowa. This individual will work in conjunction with the Fixed Equipment Asset Inspectors, Mechanical & Inspection Engineers and Inspection Contract Team to provide support for the inspection, management, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of the plant’s fixed equipment. This role is an entry level role learning planning, inspection, analyzing, reporting, and supporting of inspections on a day-to-day basis under the direction of experienced individuals for fixed equipment pressure systems and equipment.

As an Asset Integrity Junior Inspector

  • Learn and assist in the AIMS (Asset Integrity Maturity System) and Run & Maintain Inspection Program.
  • Support the implementation of fixed equipment and piping inspection and mechanical integrity programs within the plant.
  • Help with proactive site inspection improvement efforts and identify and leverage best practices.
  • Function as Turnaround and Outage Inspection support during plant shutdowns and un-planned outages.
  • Assist in preparing and implementing inspection work scopes.
  • Learn analysis of inspection data and coordination of inspection findings.
  • Utilize PCMS database to review, maintain and update records.
  • Utilize SAP for writing work requests and equipment information.
  • Assist Unit Asset Inspectors with work projects in their units.
  • Assist in scoping and tracking projects.
  • Assist with the management of contactors.
  • Communicate with vendors for technical and resource requests.
  • Learn and apply NDE inspection methods.
  • Learn and apply API 570, 510 and 653 inspection methods with eventual testing and certification.
  • Learn and apply process damage mechanisms and identification of such mechanism.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates or Technical Degree in Inspection or another technical field a plus.

Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience in a chemical industry or refining environment. Fertilizer manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience and knowledge in applying NDE (UT, PT, MT, RT) and advanced NDE techniques to equipment.
  • Mechanical knowledge of fixed equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
  • SAP and PCMS experience are preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint) required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
  • Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.
  • Wearing a respirator when/where required to perform inspections/job duties.
  • Confined space entry may be required.
