Position Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):
The Car Care Area Manager is responsible for the overall performance of an assigned Car Care region with a focus on increasing gross profit and meeting key performance metrics such as Net Promoter results, Net Income and team member retention for each location. Provides support and guidance to Facility Managers for optimal operation of their respective Car Care center.
  • Oversee team member satisfaction and member/customer service performance for assigned Car Care/Car Care Plus locations, consisting of 6 to 9 locations.
  • Drive the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting Facility management to develop and implement action plans that meet operational and organizational objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, train and mentor Facility Managers for assigned area.
  • Develop, coach and direct efforts of the Facility managers to achieve sales and profit performance goals. Review reports and dashboards regularly with effective coaching/feedback.
  • Work with Facility Managers and vendors to ensure all locations within the area are clean, adequately stocked, organized and well-kept, in order to provide a positive teammate/member/customer experience.
  • Ensure that disciplinary issues and performance deficiencies are properly discussed, and documented in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence and execution of company policies, procedures and projects.
  • Develop Car Care/Car Care Plus teams to deliver exceptional member/customer service and to meet established member/customer service goals.
  • Ensure consistency in member/customer service process in order to provide the same level of experience at every location, with every member/customer.
  • Resolve escalated member/customer issues and complaints.
  • Ensure all Car Care/Car Care Plus locations remain in compliance of established safety guidelines.
  • Conduct safety audits of Facility within assigned region; direct Facility management on actionable items to correct identified deficiencies.
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)
Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):
  • High School diploma, GED or Technical school graduate/certification
  • Must possess valid drivers’ license.
Experience:
  • 5 or more years in the automotive repair industry, working with auto/truck systems and technical resources.
  • Supervisory or management experience.
  • Proven track record in P&L responsibilities in automotive repair and service or similar field.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor others successfully in their work.
  • Proficient in PC applications for Windows, Internet Explorer, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Ability to resolve problems and conflicts involving difficult and sensitive situations.
  • Understanding of equipment and tool operation and diagnostic/repair procedures.
  • Sales skills and ability to make appropriate service recommendations.
  • Proficient in Alldata, RO Writer, Napa Tracs or other Repair Shop operational and information system programs.
  • Ability to direct diverse functions, including mentoring, training and supervising staff at all levels and effectively motivating all staff to create an environment for success.
  • Ability to plan for future staffing needs that support the growth of the business.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Ability to develop and carry out effective presentations to potential business partners and staff.

  • Salary range starts at $98,904 (starting salary based on experience) – position is eligible for overtime and other incentives

    • Shorter workdays than competitor (we close at 6pm)
    • Monday – Friday, hours are 7:30am-6pm

Work Environment
  • Exposure to loud noises and odors intermittently in the shop environment.
  • Frequent travel within region required with some overnight requirements.
  • Mental and emotional ability to work effectively in a busy environment, interacting with people and managing/leading in difficult situations.
