Brief Description
Provides technical assistance and support for TechShare Prosecutor software to attorneys, investigators, and support staff. Monitors compliance using Electronic Disposition Reporting (EDR) software with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) submissions and troubleshoots charges to ensure the County meets yearly CJIS compliance goals. Trains and supports law enforcement officers in the submittal of cases, digital evidence, and electronic disposition reporting.
Detailed Description
Provides first-line technical support for system users for TechShare Prosecutor software to include setting up new user accounts, building security roles to grant access, configuring dynamic views, forms and reports for end users, and performing configurations as needed. May include problem solving including problem determination and resolution of system and applications issues and answers; evaluate and prioritize inquiries and problems. Performs requirement-gathering activities for the development of new system features, integrations and/or functions. Reviews software updates, develops plans for regression testing and coordinates the rollout of new releases. Serves as departmental liaison with internal staff, external agencies and vendors on the implementation, integration, operation, and maintenance of TechShare Prosecutor. Identifies and corrects production issues by interfacing with technical and non-technical users to collect information and lead users through diagnostic procedures to resolve issues. Monitors CJIS compliance by researching individual cases to ensure charge information flows correctly from Law Enforcement, jail, the District Attorney, and the Court and troubleshoots issues as needed. Runs exception reports from EDR submissions to the Texas Department of Public Safety and works with stakeholders to make corrections to submissions and resubmit. Coordinates and conducts training for District Attorney personnel on the use of TechShare and related business processes. Trains and supports law enforcement officers in the submittal of cases, digital evidence, and electronic disposition reporting. Determines training needs and facilitates sessions. Keeps abreast of new and pending legislation and regulations which may impact the operation of TechShare and other information systems servicing the department. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or another job-related field. Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public. Knowledgeable of standard concepts, practices, and procedures of applicable systems. Knowledge of mainframes, PCs, networks, specialized software, internet, and office automation tools. Experience as a current or past user of criminal justice information systems preferred. Must pass a background investigation. May occasionally be required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call. “Individuals holding or considered for a position which has, or may have, access to criminal justice databases including the FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems, NCIC/TCIC and similar databases, must pass a national fingerprint-based records check prior to placement in such position and may be denied placement in such positions and/or access to such systems.
