Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform inspections, repairs, and conduct preventative maintenance on county jail facility

· Inspect, troubleshoot, and make repairs to county electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as needed

· Inspect, repair, and maintain physical structures of the WCSO Jail using hand and power tools

· Install lights, doors, window glass, ceiling tiles, locks, outlets, and other items as requested

· Troubleshoot and repair when able, kitchen and laundry equipment

· Maintain inventory of materials, parts, and equipment ordered or in stock

· Comply with all safety and security practices of the facility

· Track, secure, and monitor all equipment, tools, parts, devices, and other items throughout the facility

· Perform other related work as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

· Considerable knowledge of methods, tools, and practices related to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems

· Knowledge of materials and equipment necessary for maintaining and repairing various building systems

· Ability to learn and adhere to department policies and procedures

· Skill in the use and operation of various electrical and construction equipment

· Ability and willingness to attend training in order to improve skills and expand job knowledge

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, sit, crawl, climb a ladder, lift up to 50lbs, operate tools, distinguish between shades of colors, and work outside as needed

· Interview with the Agency Administration

· Drug Test, Psychological Examination, and Physical Examination
