Job Summary:The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for leading the company-wide marketing and communications efforts for the company in the US and Puerto Rico. This position reports to the Chief Strategy Officer of Pep Boys and is a senior role with a lot of influence on the overall performance of the company and visibility to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate will have a background in marketing strategy, agency management, and digital media with experience leading a cross-functional marketing team. Experience in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment is a must with an ability to keep multiple, complex projects moving forward simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day leadership of the marketing team and several agencies overseeing paid media, creative/campaign development, PR/communications, and social channels.
- Lead the development of marketing strategies to increase car count and profitability throughout the over 900+ service locations in the US and Puerto Rico.
- Manage the department marketing budget.
- Develop impactful campaigns to meet the objectives of specific business initiatives.
- Monitor competitors and evaluate their strategies and positioning and devise counter-strategies.
- Protect and enhance the legacy of the Pep Boys brand.
- Overall responsibility for all social channels for Pep Boys.
- Work closely with various other teams including operations, IT and others to create effective strategies to maximize our position in the marketplace.
- Develop and implement performance tracking and reporting processes to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Bachelor's degree required with an MBA preferred
- 10+ years in various marketing roles with at least 5 years of team leadership experience.
- Strong analytical skills to create marketing strategies and tactics using quantitative data to shape the KPIs and overall ROI.
- Demonstrable ability to impact to business results in previous roles.
- Ability to show a strategic approach to project management with examples of moving complex initiatives through various levels, groups within a company.
- Exceptional communications skills with strong executive presence.
