Responsibilities:
The Lewis Lab looking for a Laboratory Technician to assist with basic research into neurobiology and mitochondrial function using both in vitro and in vivo approaches in mice. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, mammalian cell culture, western blotting, molecular biology, basic biochemical assays, immunocytochemistry, microscopy, mouse handling, euthanasia and dissection, and PCR genotyping. Training will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong interest in, aptitude with, and enthusiasm for Life Sciences. Must work well independently and as part of a team. Must have effective communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Must have the ability to carefully follow written and verbal instructions, be highly motivated, conscientious, and highly dependable.
Preferred Qualifications:
Course work in neuroscience, physiology, and/or cell and molecular biology are desired. Previous laboratory experience in any of these areas is desired. The ideal candidate will have an excellent record of scholarship and communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with strong communication and analytical skills.
Work Hours:
Typically Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
