Summary

The Jail Health Services Division (JHS) of Public Health | Seattle & King County is seeking a full time, Career Service Project/Program Manager I to join our team! The purpose of JHS is to assure that basic health and human services are available to individuals who are incarcerated in the King County adult correctional facilities. They offer a comprehensive set of services—including screening for substance use disorders, prescribing medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), distributing naloxone, and providing overdose prevention and response education.

The Project/Program Manager I will provide critical quality assurance and data analysis support and will be responsible for conducting chart reviews, monitoring program data, and conducting feedback surveys. The position will also play a key part in ensuring that the program runs effectively by maintaining the program’s cloud-based applications, assisting with new employee onboarding, and coordinating program-related meetings and activities.

Work Location: This position works primarily at the both King County Correctional Facility (KCCF) in Seattle and Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC - Kent). The MRJC is located at 401 4th Ave N, Kent, WA 98032 and KCCF is located at 500 5th Ave., Seattle, WA 98104.

Work Schedule: This full-time, 1.0 FTE Career Service position works a 40-hour work week from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Job Duties

  • Maintain the program’s SharePoint page, multiple Microsoft Teams sites, and shared email accounts.
  • Perform quality assurance activities such as conducting chart reviews, monitoring program data, and conducting feedback surveys with participants and staff.
  • Incorporate quality assurance into daily functions and assist in decision making concerning quality issues.
  • Review quality assurance practices periodically to assess effectiveness and suggest areas of possible improvement.
  • Use an electronic health record system and other data sources to monitor and report on participant enrollment, participation, and linkage to internal and external service providers.
  • Organize and maintain program data. Create and maintain data collection tools, daily management boards and monthly program performance measures as directed by program manager.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Develop and maintain onboarding materials, participant education materials, forms, program brochures and posters and assisting program manager with developing and creating new program-related materials.
  • Assist program manager with presentations and meetings by scheduling events, preparing handouts, coordinating logistics, creating meeting agendas, taking notes, and drafting a copy of the minutes.
  • Respond to inquiries from community providers about program procedures and program activities.
  • Maintain staff schedule and calendars and update staff tracker.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency using cloud-based applications such as Microsoft 365 including SharePoint, OneNote, Teams.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher to generate professional-looking program materials, reports and presentations and to coordinate schedules and events.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance practices, gathering data, and reporting on program services.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with non-English speaking clients utilizing interpreters when necessary.
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in working and building rapport with people from diverse cultural, socio- economic and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence to work in team environment and use conflict management skills appropriately.
  • Knowledge of medical and substance use disorder terminology.
  • Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Must possess valid Washington Driver’s License to drive a county vehicle.
