Jackie‘s Grillette is an eclectic, home-styled eatery & cafe, offering a Mediterranean-American fare in the heart of Upper Montclair, NJ. We’re currently seeking enthusiastic & genuine people to join our team. We are looking for someone who is charismatic, energetic & confident when working under pressure and in high-traffic settings.
As a shift leader, you will be the face of Jackie’s Grillette’s brand & identity. This position holds an integral part of our operation, as you will be responsible for creating & maintaining an exciting and smooth customer experience.
Shift leaders report directly to the General Manager and work with other team members to maintain a clean, safe & hospitable environment, both for the staff and customers. You will help oversee the day-to-day operations, as this includes both front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities. You will assist front-of-house employees as needed in order to execute a successful operation.
The responsibilities of a shift leader include, but not limited to:
- Serve food & beverages to all dine-in & takeout guests
- Making of coffee, juice & smoothie beverages
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests
- Maintain work space to a high degree of cleanliness
- Filling, stocking & maintaining of inventory
- Become familiar and knowledgeable with our menu, including ability to respond to questions regarding ingredients, allergies, etc.
- Take orders via POS systems and handling both cash & credit card payments
- Create customer relationships & provide personalized service to all guests
- Execute opening and/or closing shifts with their respective duties
- Assist with all shift duties, making sure all tasks get executed in a timely & professional manner
