Overview:
The Manager of Behavior Services will provide leadership and oversight for the school’s Behavior Management Resources and Transportation Services including supervision and training of all related staff; oversee development, revision and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs); and the development and enforcement of pertinent policies and procedures and the organization and updating of associated records and documentation.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate, in cooperation with other administrators and senior clinical staff, the development, implementation and monitoring of school-wide, behavioral services.
  • Utilize Behavior Resource staff and the appropriate educational and clinical staff to ensure the timely and effective administration of Functional Behavioral Assessments and the development, revision and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Responsible for insuring that Behavior Resource staff operate strictly within the parameters of Exclusion, Restraint, Seclusion and all other relevant behavior management policies and procedures defined by the school and the Institute.
  • Recruit, orient, train, observe, supervise and evaluate all Resource Room staff and all assigned Program Aides.
  • Responsible for day-to-day deployment and assignment of Resource Room staff and assigned Program Aides.
  • In collaboration with Principals, Related Service staff, and all other appropriate staff, interpret and enforce school policies. Oversee and make decisions, as needed, in areas such as reward systems, use of the Supported Program Removals within the school, and out-of- school disciplinary removals.
  • Oversee matters pertaining to the transportation of students on school buses. Insure effective communication between school staff, bus staff, LEA transportation offices, and parents regarding transportation concerns.
  • Oversee and ensure that all behavior management statistics are provided as needed for Cross-Campus, Continuous Quality Improvement Reviews, IEP meetings, and other meetings as requested.
  • Oversee the PCM crisis intervention certification and re-certification of all staff. Insure accurate and organized records documenting staff participation, training dates, persons providing training and the nature of the training.
  • Oversee and coordinate staff in-services related to all aspects of behavior management and behavior services.
  • Assist ACT office with reviewing students for intake and admissions. Provide feedback regarding behavioral management concerns as well as student placement options, as appropriate.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other KKS campuses to coordinate and standardize the behavior management systems, approaches and trainings.
  • Support and maintain positive image to all staff, students, parents/guardians, agency representatives and colleagues regarding the mission and focus of the school.
  • Implement and support the use of technology in behavioral interventions and administrative duties.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:

Master’s Degree in related field (special education, psychology, counseling) is required.

RELATED TRAINING:

PCM training will be provided by department. Employee must achieve and maintain certification at the “Instructor” level according to the timeline established within the departmental policy.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of five years experience working with behaviorally challenged special education students, including some experience in the supervision of staff is required.
