Job Description
In support of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help develop our next generation data platform while improving our current Analytics platform. We are running on hybrid cloud, leveraging modern BI tooling, and building cutting-edge infrastructure as a service offerings to expand our platform and skillsets. Sound fun? It does to us too!
Essential Functions:
- Proven software professional with excellent communication and collaboration skills in addition to current, hands-on coding skills
- Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in team settings
- Extend the Plex platform by new ideas and concepts to solve business problems
- Coach and mentor other less experienced team members
- On-call rotation responsibilities
- Work as part of a distributed team across multiple time zones
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related area or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required- we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, not now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Typically requires 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying high volume, high transaction based, distributed and redundant cloud applications
- Strong background developing within .NET technologies and other object-oriented languages such as Python, Golang or Java.
- Comfortable writing testable code along with unit, integration and functional tests
- Strong understanding of modern distributed architecture for scalable and fast applications
- Experience troubleshooting front end UI
- Experience building microservices and HTTP APIs
- Experience working in agile teams, preferably in a Continuous Delivery model
- Demonstrated understanding of design patterns, principles, and frameworks
- Demonstrated understanding of security concepts and best practices
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of SQL and No-SQL datastores
- Experience with full technology stack, from UI to DB
- Additional experience with the following: container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc), messaging platforms (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, etc), data orchestration tools (Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow, Spark, Databricks), Azure cloud
