Clemson University's Chemical Engineering Department is looking for a Lab Technologist III to fulfill the following duties:

• Manages complex research and instructional laboratory equipment in the Unit Operations Lab, machine shop and research laboratories.

• Assists with instruction of undergraduate teaching laboratories.

• Instructs graduate students in equipment use.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

50% - Essential - Fabrication: Designs, fabricates, and modifies chemical engineering instructional equipment. Assists with the instruction of undergraduate teaching laboratories and research labs.

20% - Essential - Maintenance: Maintains, installs and calibrates chemical engineering instructional equipment. Instructs graduate students in the operation of complex chemical engineering laboratory and research equipment, and manages classroom and lab renovations.

15% - Essential - Leadership: Leads part-time chemical engineering technicians and up to 30 graduate research assistants and 10 undergraduate lab assistants each year on matters pertaining to safe and effective equipment usage and environmental health and safety. Manages shop.

15% - Essential - Safety: Develops and manages environmental, occupational health and safety programs in the Department of Chemical Engineering

Education: Bachelor's Degree

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range: ($ 43,030.00 - $ 68,000.00)

Normal Operations

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
