Job Overview
Wright-Ryan Construction, Inc. is searching for a Senior Director of Human Resources, to be based in their downtown Portland, Maine office. Wright-Ryan is a growing employee-owned business of 100 team members equally divided between office and field specializing in both single family high end residential and commercial construction. This is a dynamic hands-on position that provides daily operational support, contributes to high level strategic decision making, manages all employee relations and supports all employee engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities
- The Senior Director of HR sits on the Senior leadership team and participates in companywide strategic planning, organizing and decision making for short and long-term objectives.
- Manages the HR department, with one direct report and one dotted line report.
- Provides counsel and support for all employee relations situations.
- Administers all HR centric policies, procedures, as well as all HR compliance management.
- Oversees the talent management process from hiring to orientation and onboarding.
- Directs total compensation programs, which includes benefits and other incentives.
Wright-Ryan's Senior Director of HR Candidate:
- Holds a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Has eight to ten years increasingly responsible HR generalist experience including broad-based HR policy and program development, employee relations, recruitment, compensation & benefits, compliance, and training.
- Minimum SHRM-CP credential with interest in pursuing SHRM-SCP within the next 2 years.
- Superior people-problem solving skills - Ability to address and resolve problems with tact and understanding.
- Ability to take initiative, anticipate problems, assess potential issues, recognize when corrective action is necessary, and formulate and implement corrections.
