Job Description Summary

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial statements and analysis reports, developing and maintaining department budgets and assisting with Cost Reporting functions. The successful candidate will also collect pertinent information for third party audits, oversee financial reporting and operations and will be the first point of contact for accounting issues.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

1. Prepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals and logs

2. Follow our company’s established accounting processes in accordance with GAAP

3. Perform accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry

4. Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and perform monthly bank settlements

5. Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data

6. Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts

7. Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions

8. Prepare documentation for external auditors

9. Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential

10. Accomplishes accounting and organizational mission by completing related results as needed.

11. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

1. Four to Five years of relevant accounting experience, or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

2. Able to use MS Office, Excel, fax machine, copier, and other business office tools.

3. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred. Experience in years and at an equivalent level will be considered.

Skills Required

1. Ability to communicate billing cycle, revenue cycle and accounts receivable information in a way that is understandable to staff and management.

2. High level proficiency in Word and Excel.

3. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

5. Strong team building skills.

6. Must demonstrate and maintain any required competency.

7. Able to speak, read and write in English.

8. Be honest, self-directed, possess initiative, display good judgment and a positive attitude toward daily activities.

9. Have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in written work.

10. Be able to work cooperatively and in a productive manner with Agency employees, clients, customers and the general public.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
