SUMMARY OF JOB

The Sanitation Supervisor is primarily responsible for developing and overseeing the sanitation program, and for insuring that all food safety requirements as required by federal, state, and local regulations are being met throughout the facility. This role requires off shift and weekend work and will be required to cover Operation responsibilities on an as need basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervises all activities necessary for the cleaning and sanitizing of production, packaging, storage areas and production equipment on a daily basis in manufacturing facilities and ensuring that all duties are performed in accordance with USDA (U.S. Department of Ag), SSOP (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures), HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points), FDA (Food & Drug Administration), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), all safety policies and procedures, and any other established policies and requirements necessary.
• Confers with multiple production departments to schedule sanitizing and cleaning assignments, responding to reports of sanitation problems and USDA and FDA issues and monitor sanitation performance as needed to verify guidelines and procedures, costing specifications and system data.
• Prepares and compiles required company and government reports within required deadlines, and retain as required for production and food safety audits required in food manufacturing.
• Investigates ways to reduce waste, downtime, and improve equipment and employee utilization in our continuous efforts to improve processes utilized; presents proposals to Manager for review and approval.
• Manages leads and supervision of sanitation employees. Interviewing, hiring employees following required guidelines and ensuring employees receive the proper training. Conducts performance appraisals and administer corrective action when necessary.
• Responsible for the effective utilization of employees, skills development, housekeeping, safety, utilization of required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), policy administration, employee relations, scheduling, cost control and coordination of all sanitation activities with crew in facilities.
• Adjust daily work schedule as needed to meet sanitation requirements.
• Works closely with USDA representative on site to ensure all company, state, and federal requirements are met. Reviews and signs off on all HACCP documentation.
• Makes sure equipment is running at required speed in order to meet sanitation targets.
• Reports sanitation readings, mechanical problems and downtime daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Three to five years sanitation or technical education and three years sanitation experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,200.00 - $75,300.00 per year
