Location: Based from Sibelco's Ransbach-Baumbach office in the Koblenz region with work from home possibilities, in between travel, as long as a reasonable commuting distance to our office.
Positioning: This role will report to the Commercial Director for the Ransbach-Baumbach cluster

Role Purpose: The Sales Manager Steel & Refractory is responsible for:
  • growing the business by identifying and converting new sales opportunities with existing accounts and prospects with the entire Sibelco product portfolio in the assigned territory;
  • maximizing the sales for his/her commercial cluster.
He/she will execute through a systematic sales tactical plan (who-target, why-business rationale, what-product, how-sales approach, when-visit planning) that successfully maximize profitable growth and sales objectives (volume, price and gross margin) for the German cluster and for Sibelco.
Steel and refractory Industry experience is a must. The key to success are the commercial instincts and strong business acumen to develop sales from existing customers and developing new market areas for Sibelco's steel & refractory minerals.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for sales who can formulate and implement sales tactics including price and products to develop existing customers and seek out new opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Achieve and exceed annual sales budget, profit/price and market share goals
  • Visit customers and potential customers, find and develop new opportunities to achieve the highest value.
  • Develop an understanding of the products that will help to sell formulation solutions
  • Produce accurate visit reports for all visits and calls and keep customer data updated in CRM and other databases.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the market, including customer needs, competitors, trends, impact of local legislation.
  • Set prices and payment terms in line with Sibelco's pricing and payment structures for the region and application and achieve the end financial target; receivables, payment terms.
  • Map competition to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Provide operations and supply chain with on time information to schedule the activities for the short/medium/long term period.
About you:
  • Bachelor's degree, University Degree preferred
  • You have minimum 7 years experience selling to the steel and/or refractory industry, managing large accounts.
  • Self-drive: High-energy, creative and resourceful self-starter and pragmatic problem solver.
  • Results-oriented and able to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to gain and maintain lasting customer relationships
  • Proven ability to understand and sell a technical product portfolio
  • Fluent English and German.
