Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing quality patient care through practice and education to patients presenting themselves to the cardiac cath lab and/or receiving moderate sedation in the Radiology department. In addition, may be called upon to monitor any critically ill patient in Radiology. The duties include but may not be limited to the following: plans, delivers, evaluates and documents care of the adult patient, both inpatient and outpatient. Identifies abnormalities and initiates treatments and protocols. RN assists with equipment, medications, contrast and procedures. RN performs pre-procedure assessments and preparation, intra-procedure monitoring and procedural sedation as well as post-procedure recovery from moderate sedation. Assessment and plans of care and moderate sedation are done in collaboration with patient/family, physician and other interdisciplinary healthcare members to meet the educational discharge needs of the patient. This position complies with the policies, principles and activities established by the Code of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program.
