JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Hillary Lab within the Department of Psychology in the College of the Liberal Arts at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Research Lab Coordinator (Human Research Technologist 2).

The Research Lab Coordinator will be involved in coordinating efforts for two NIH-funded studies focused on brain injury, MRT data analysis, and data sharing. The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate data management and analysis of MRI data and coordinate studies within a broader group of collaborators through ENIGMA consortium .

The Research Lab Coordinator will also gain experience conducting neuropsychological testing and clinical interviews with women who have experienced physical and/or head trauma as a result of domestic violence, as well as elderly individuals with a history of traumatic brain injury. Candidates must demonstrate ability to compassionately interact with individuals who have suffered traumatic experiences as a result of intimate partner or family violence.

More specific responsibilities of the Research Lab Coordinator include:

  • Recruit and schedule subjects/participants for lab visits

  • Maintain subject/participant database

  • Organize lab materials, conduct data collection, monitor incoming data for accuracy

  • Troubleshoot for technical problems and maintain the integrity of the project protocol

  • Monitor the safety and confidentiality of the project and its subjects/participants

  • Assist the Principal Investigator with Institutional Review Board amendments, continuations, and renewals

  • Ensure all lab personnel have appropriate training for work with human subjects

  • Manage project finances including purchases of supplies and lab materials; reconcile receipts and purchases; submit subject/participant payment forms and travel reimbursement

  • Train others to collect, enter, score, and interpret data

  • Prepare reports summarizing data gatherings; meet with appropriate individuals to discuss data and ensure consistent interpretation or results

  • May supervise undergraduate research assistants, medical students, and/or part-time staff

Education and Experience: This position will be filled as a Level 2, which typically requires an Associate's Degree or higher (Bachelor’s degree preferred) plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a limited-term position, funded for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of re-funding.
