POSITION: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
GRADE LEVEL: Hiring for both middle school and high school positions
LOCATION: Hiring at multiple locations.

relocation stipend

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The RBT is a paraprofessional that works with students with significant behavior needs - often within a Center Program (Autism, Affective Needs, etc.) at the middle school or high school level We are looking for an individual that has a passion for working with students in autism and will put the needs of our students first. The RBT is responsible for supporting an environment rich in positive behavior supports to support behavior intervention plans and replacement behaviors. The RBT should be willing to model and implement effective ABA strategies to support the instruction of all students. The RBT will support and teach a variety of learner profiles that are present in Autism Spectrum Disorder. This includes students that may be highly verbal or nonverbal, or engage in mild to severe behaviors to communicate their wants/needs. The RBT may lead development of material creation, effective intervention implementation and response strategies. This RBT may need to manage the personal care needs of students' feeding, changing, and hygiene routines and to support other team members to provide this care with dignity and respect of students. This RBT should be committed to working collaboratively with other staff in the center program and the administration team.
Classroom Climate and Culture

Exhibit openness to understand the varying needs of students in the center program, many of whom may exhibit a wide variety of behaviors and/or diagnoses including a autism and possible serious emotional disability

Assist with the implementation IEP Goals, accommodations and modifications for all students
-
Assist with the implementation of behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports to support the behavioral needs within the classroom environment.

Assist teacher in developing materials, visuals, lesson plans, and taking data for IEP and behavior data collections systems.

Maintain a learning environment that is structured, organized, routine-oriented with a variety of instructional formats.

Assist the general education teacher with students that might need extra support with learning skills within the classroom environment.

Strive to implement and master researched based core instructional practices.

Maintain openness to receive and give feedback on instructional practices to ensure student behavioral, social and academic lessons and curriculum are consistently implemented

Professional Development

Participate in the school’s professional development programs including principles and procedures in Applied Behavior Analysis, development of Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention plans, Social cognition and executive function skills, leading and participating in best practice sessions, peer coaching, and attending conferences.

Reflect and seek to improve learning and development. Be open to innovative approaches to teaching, feedback from colleagues and school administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
RBT Credential-
-
Completed the 40 hour required training AND have had BCBA supervision to be credentials RBT
Autism Experience -
-
2+ years of experience working with Students with Autism Required
-
Deep knowledge of ABA and Behavior Intervention strategies
-
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships and collaborate with a team of individuals
Education-
-
At least 48 semester hours at accredited college or university (an Associate's or Bachelor's degree will suffice); or
-
Successfully taking an assessment selected by the state or by the employing school district that meets state and federal standards and that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics.

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing the EdReady Exams for Reading and Math

Complete the diagnostic exams. There is no time limit and you may complete the exams in multiple sittings. If you meet the minimum scores, you will receive a congratulatory email. If you do not meet the minimum scores, you will be required to complete online learnings and assessments until you meet the minimum scores.

Required score: 21 or higher in Reading and 35 or higher in Math
