Title: Receptionist (West 7th Street Community Center)
Status: Regular, Part Time (20 Hours per week)
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reporting Relationship: Director of Facilities Operations
Program/Department: Management
Salary Range: $16.00/hour
Position Description:
A receptionist supports Keystone Community Services at its West 7th Community Center location by performing the essential functions listed below.
Anticipated hours for this position will be:
Monday and Thursday: 3pm – 8pm
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 3pm – 6:30pm
Essential Functions:
95% Front Desk Receptionist
- Greet all clients, visitors and the general public with respect and sensitivity
- Assist clients, visitors and the general public with information, directions and assistance about Keystone, Library and Parks and Rec programs.
- Monitor the facility lobby and public areas for safety and security.
- Receive, direct and relay telephone and fax messages.
- Schedule and record program registrations and appointments in person and over the telephone.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to Keystone programs and staff members.
- Data entry and mailing projects as assigned
- Open community center facility in the morning and/or close and secure the community center in the evening.
- Post outgoing mail and receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers
- Provide reception coverage for staff taking vacation time
- Provide light “housekeeping” in the lobby and common areas
5% Other Duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements/Preferences
- Comfort with and ability to interact and communicate effectively with people of all racial, ethnic, economic and social backgrounds.
- A welcoming and warm demeanor.
- 1 year of prior work experience in a front office handling receptionist duties.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and e-mail.
- Enjoy providing excellent customer service and community relations in a fast- paced atmosphere.
- Comfortable with Multi-tasking in a busy environment.
- Solid written and oral communication skills and good phone manner.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot standard office equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to keep confidential information
- Background check(s) required
Physical/Mental Requirements
- The office/reception area may be noisy and busy making it difficult to concentrate.
- May have long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
- May have to manage a number of requests and situations at one time.
- May have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
- May have to calmly deal with difficult individuals and situations from time to time.
