Quality Technician

Job Summary

We are hiring for a full-time Quality Technician. This is a direct hire position on 2nd and 3rdshift and offers up to $23/hour based on experience. In this role you will be responsible for performing daily inspections using micrometers, calipers, dial gauges and other major inspection equipment.

Bonus

• 2ndand 3rd shift receive a $2,000 sign-on retention bonus.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities Investigate and confirm nonconforming product for Scrap or Repair status.
• Initiate part non conformity reports
• Responsible for measurement equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
• Perform and completes tests of new parts, and report findings to Quality Supervisor and manager.
• May stop a production line and quarantine parts to prevent build-up of scrap.
• Operating form tracing equipment desirable.
• Operates Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), programming desirable.
• Conduct line audits of Turning and Forging production process.
• Perform all of the above operations while maintaining an orderly 5S environment
• Sort non-conforming parts as needed
• May need to be cross-trained on other QA functions, i.e., Heat Treat
• Any QA projects assigned by QA Supervisor/Manager

Skills and Abilities

• A high school diploma or its equivalent and minimum 1-2 years of related experience.
• Previous experience inspecting metal parts with measuring equipment.
• Basic computer skills for learning computer measuring software.
• Prefer experience working in Turning and milling operations
• Previous experience working with CNC equipment preferred
• Strong mathematics skills.
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• A strong focus on safety

Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in a manufacturing setting standing and walking on concrete floors throughout an 8- to 12-hour shift with frequent handling of metal parts weighing 1 to 5 pounds
• Visual inspection
• Occasional bending or reaching
• Use of hand tools
• Use of up to 50 lbs. of force to move heavy loads on wheels
