Responsibilities:
Duties
Perform mental status evaluations for behavioral health patients to determine the mental, emotional, or behavioral needs.
Obtain a thorough clinical history through interviews and medical records.
Perform group and individual counseling and education.
Assist in developing a treatment plan based on interviews, observations, records, and test results.
Document intervention and patient's response to treatment.
Coordinate activities and encourage participation from patients.
Qualifications:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing intake for behavioral health patients, educating or counseling behavioral health patients, and maintaining patient records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Psychology, Human Services, Child & Family Welfare, Counseling, (ex. crisis, substance abuse, mental health, chemical dependence), Family and Community Services, Behavioral Science, Human Development, Social Work, Sociology, Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts
