Pool Manager

The Schwenksville Pool is open to residents Memorial Day thru Labor Day.

The Pool Manager performs a variety of duties in planning, scheduling, maintaining the seasonal operation of the pool, communicating with staff, members, and the board of directors. Has enthusiasm for making the pool a safe and fun place for the community.

The Pool Manager has overall responsibility for safety at the pool, as well as managerial, administrative, facility, aquatic, communications and leadership duties, including (but not limited to):

Managerial/Administrative

• Manage and oversee lifeguards. Plan and organize workloads and staff assignments for lifeguards. Hold bi-weekly training & safety meetings for all employees under direct supervision..
• Manages timecards and submits payroll to bookkeeper
• Writes monthly schedules for staff.
• Maintains all PA State required records. Maintains accident reports.
• Responsible for employee training, discipline.
• Communicates with Parks and Recreation Director during Pre-Season preparations.

Facility

• Prepare pool for opening/closing each season
• Oversees the maintenance of the pools, to include chemistry, cleanliness, and related maintenance.
• Manages chemical balances of each pool and adjusts as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of each pool and surrounding areas.
• Operate/trouble shoot pump house
• Responsible for keeping inventory of needed chemicals and supplies.
• Keeps par inventory of store room supplies.

Aquatic/Safety

• Instill attention to safety with lifeguards as well as with pool members and guests; enforce safety at the pool among staff and members.
• Hold current Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid Certifications.
• Trains Assistant Managers and Head Guards.
• Hold regular lifeguard in-service

Communications

• Communicate regularly with staff/Board of Directors regarding safety, staff, facility/maintenance.
• Communicate with residents on unplanned closures, maintenance issues, etc.

Leadership

• Ensure hourly employees work no more than 40 hours per week.
• Create a safe and fun atmosphere for staff and residents

Qualifications

• PA State Pesticide License – category 24
• Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid Certifications
• Experience as a manager
• Hazmat Training
• Sexual Harassment In-Service

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Knowledge of swimming pool safety and maintenance.
• Knowledge of equipment and tools.
• Ability to efficiently monitor pumps, gauges and perform testing.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
