SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for preparing and installing the underground pipelines for storm, sanitation, drains and/or water main.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but is not limited to the following:

• Install and repair storm, sanitation and/or water structures and pipelines systems
• Lay out pipe routes, following specifications or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisor
• Climb in and out via ladder of trenches up to 20 feet deep
• Cut pipes to required lengths with gas powered saw
• Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
• Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue
• Wet/Dry tapping holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials
• Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools
• Train others in pipe-laying techniques
• Conduct tests and inspections of products, services and/or processes to evaluate quality or performance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
