POSITION SUMMARY

This position requires the capability of achieving very high standards of quality, productivity and safety.

POSITION DETAILS

• Always be thinking of continued improvement. Work to create ideas no matter how big or small (preferably small) to make work safer, smarter, easier and more efficient.
• Ensure the unloaded products are packaged correctly, safely and look professional
• Perform product sampling and laboratory testing to maintain quality control testing of products generated on their shift; including Crush, Drop, Sizing and Water Absorption
• Maintain and record shift records of operational, environmental, and safety data
• Unload and move kiln cars around the tracks to where they are needed
• Work on the line cleaning, repairing and maintaining kiln cars
• Maintain a safe, clean work area
• Other duties as required or instructed by the shift supervisor

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED and 2 years of industrial experience- preferred
• Ability to learn to use and interpret measuring devices such as but not limited to calipers, steel rule and tape measure
• Ability to learn to operate a forklift, and Quality Control testing apparatus.
• The ability to communicate fluently to convey, exchange, and understand questions, ideas and instructions in both verbal and written form in English
• Possess good math skills including four basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurement
• Lifting, carrying, pushing or moving of 50 pounds minimum
• Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, and respond accordingly
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate front-end loader, skid-steer loader, track mobile and forklift
• Ability to work as part of a team and work independently
• Ability to fill in for other shifts, potentially nights or weekends as necessary
• Ability and willingness to be cross trained in other job functions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
