ORGANIZER

The Clark County Education Association (CCEA) is seeking applicants for the multiple positions for Organizer with worksite/field organizing experience. Required experience includes internal organizing experience and worksite building structure. Position requires extended work hours. These are permanent fulltime positions.

Association Overview

Clark County Education Association is an independent education union that represents 18,000+ Pre K-12 licensed employees in 370 schools in the Clark County School District (CCSD) which is the fifth largest school district in the USA. CCEA is the largest independent educators union in the country. CCEA provides collective bargaining, contract representation, professional development, legal services, legislative advocacy and political programs to win for our members.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
This position shall work with the Organize the Schools (OTS) team to successfully carry out implementing CCEA’s membership growth and leadership development program. Summary of duties shall include but not be limited to the following:

· Have an assigned route of buildings you will be responsible for

· Engage in a vigorous ongoing membership recruitment campaign including assisting in membership growth in each building

· Assist education leaders in building to carry out their responsibilities on the school sites organizational team

· Help each building developing a communication network

· Develop a relationship with the school’s organizational team

· Assist in promoting and carrying out CCEA’s professional learning program in each building

· Assist in organizing member and non-member engagement in CCEA’s Strategic Horizon Campaign

· Assist in building leader’s efforts in parental engagement

· Coordinate with CCEA’s parental engagement work at each building site.

· Collect all relevant data and enter into data base and maintain accurate information

· Generate frequent progress reports on work

· Meet daily with CCEA staff leadership and follow their instructions and directions

· Maintain visibility with the membership through regularly scheduled building visitations.

· Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with the membership.

· Other duties as assigned by CCEA.

Essential Qualifications and Experiences
The successful candidate will have had experience with internal organizing where union density and leadership development grew; experience in working in a right to work state preferred; and, experience in public education is a plus.

In addition, the successful candidate will possess knowledge and experiences in the following areas:

· People oriented with strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

· Data management skills required including in computer skills and programs

· Ability to motivate others

· To be detailed oriented

· Be task driven

· Results driven

· Deadline accomplished

· Creative problem solver

· Organized in their work assignment

· Have a driver’s license and a registered vehicle with $300,000 liability auto insurance is a mandatory requirement

· Willing to work extended hours as assigned

· Professional appearance in interacting with members and the public

· A team player working collaboratively to accomplish objectives

· Experience working on campaigns

· Working with diverse populations, personalities and viewpoints

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 per year
