Purpose:

The purpose of this job is to provide the Laurinburg Facility with the best techniques in the maintenance planning and scheduling process, to ensure time optimization within the maintenance work force. This job documents work orders so that the work description, time estimate, and proper codes are recorded. The necessary parts and tools required for the work are identified, ordered, and available to ensure job completion.


Essential Functions:


  • Prepares needed reports to management for analysis.
  • Tracks and monitors cost and identifies variance to the budgeted cost plan.
  • Summarizes monthly progress information and manpower requirements by reviewing contract data and requirements.
  • Create, print, and communicate daily and weekly work schedules for the maintenance team with backlogs.
  • Identify safety; and will communicate permitting requirements for all planned tasks and prepares coordination between multifaceted schedule requirements.
  • Create, maintain and optimize the maintenance program with the maintenance team.
  • Manage maintenance documentation, and update preventative/predictive maintenance programs for equipment in area of responsibility.
  • Ensure drawings and updates are done for all equipment modifications.
  • Highly involved in improvement activities with Production Teams.
  • Provide input to contractors, vendors, suppliers, and consultants to help define and implement new or most effective equipment for assigned areas.
  • Plan work requested by Maintenance and Production Teams, and the Engineering Team.
  • Ensure that all planned parts are available to the maintenance team prior to the start of the job. Implement additions to inventory and create bills of materials (BOM).
  • Solve planning issues with production representative such as job priority, due date, work scope.
  • Enhance front line maintenance planning skills through coaching and training of maintenance technicians on process equipment locations, store room part locations, and preventative maintenance accuracy.
  • Issue work orders and assist in invoice reviews and payment approvals.
  • Document job requirements for adequate level of planning.
  • Estimate required hours for corrective actions needed and PM’s needed for planning of the equipment.
  • Participate with reliability teams on improvements of projects.
  • Schedule all PM work orders, upon completion, log deficiencies and findings, and generate follow up work orders as required.
  • Communicate performance expectations, work details, planning with other departments.
  • Upon completion of jobs, communicate with skilled labor regarding ideas to maximize efficiency on future jobs.
  • Determines targets and how to maintain targets within maintenance for PM’s
  • Ability to order materials for all related jobs and have correct stock levels within the organization to repair equipment.

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ of experience in industrial maintenance or technical background
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes and activities
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technically related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlines.
  • Strong Electrical/ Mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of SAP CMMS system

  • Strong in analytical, innovative and strategic competencies
  • Previous supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment
