Responsibilities of D.C. Copeland's Literary Assistant:

  • Experience and Facility with Adobe InDesign, Pages, Word
  • Ability to create final formatting of books for publisher using Adobe InDesign or other forms of computer tech
  • Assist in sending work to magazines and publishers
  • Communicate regularly with editors, press and literary agent, publisher
  • Meet in-person once a week for 2-3 hrs
  • Work offsite
  • Set up a website for D.C. Copeland that links to amazon site, quora and merchandise
  • Organize Submissions to Agents, Magazines, Publishing Houses
  • Act as Intermediary between Agents, Magazines, Publishing Houses, PR and D.C. Copeland

Our goal is to publish and sell the work of D.C. Copeland. One of the projects you will work on is the publishing and selling of The Artist's Manifesto: Essays From An Afterthought which includes provocative material about psychology, drug-culture, sex, love, theater, the soul, and the cathartic power of the realm of art in the individual life. If a good working relationship develops, there will be more work for a literary assistant to do after this first book is published. Bonus upon completion of first project. D.C. Copeland is a published poet and world-premiering dramatist. Her poetry has been published by Aaduna, Commonline journal, Flare Journal, 34th Parallel (issues 89 and 94), swifts and slows and The Gravity of The Thing. Her plays have world premiered in New York City (Forget-Me-Not, These Foolish Things, Merrily Down The Stream ), Yale University, Portland Oregon (Play, The Undiscovered Country) and her work is taught at Williams College. She graduated from Yale University with a BA in English and New York University with an MA in Humanities focusing on Art.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
