Summary of Responsibilities:

The Team Lead at Sunland Welding & Fabrication is a critical company position focused on steel erection and quality control. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, evaluating shop and erection drawings, processing raw materials, assembly installation, and supervising a small work crew to facilitate project completion. The Team Lead will be required to work under tight schedules and keep team members on task. The position requires administrative oversight abilities for all active projects in process. The
The team Lead must also work closely with Project Manager, Estimation team, and Shop Lead to ensure project forecasts and customer goals are met – and exceeded.

Other Responsibilities:

• Assist the field team and follow the directions of the lead / foreman
• Aid in structural erection; rigging steel assemblies, bolting connections
• Operate equipment (e.g., reach fork, scissor lift, and fork lift)
• Follow all relative safety protocols
• Maintain good job-site housekeeping for the team
• Occasionally assist the fabrication shop in assembly production

Organizational Areas:

• Field trucks and trailers
• Truck tools, equipment and consumables
• Overall job site condition

Team & Client Relationship Skills

• Contribute to positive customer interactions in a manor designed to build long term relationships
• Build strong relationships with each crew member
• Operate as one team
• Provide constant support to the lead / foreman
• Always ensure that all consumables, hardware, and materials are loaded for the day’s work
• Drive to improve; request continuing education and instruction
• Contribute and develop creative solutions to problems
• Complete all activities with a pride of ownership “as if it was your name on the door.”
• Participate in company-wide events (e.g., meetings, socials, etc.)

Field Team Lead Responsibilities:

• Oversight of the installation process and its schedule
• Ensuring task completion in a timely manner
• Conducting continuous reviews for quality control
• Maintaining and improving all facility safety and performance standards
• Bear ownership of each job during installation
• Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment
• Creating and implementing new improvement standards
• Motivating co-workers and increasing team dynamics
• Maintain field paperwork
• Control inventory of Consumables
