Our client is a locally owned and operated print and manufacturing company, with an impressive portfolio of A-list customers, and we are growing. We are looking for a conscientious, problem solving, organized, and energetic individual to join our Operations team as the Inventory Clerk.

The Inventory Clerk position may work either Monday - Thursday (4, 10-hour days, 6a-4:30p), or Monday - Friday (5, 8-hour days with flexible start time).

Job Description: Inventory Clerk

As the Inventory Clerk, you will report to the Purchasing and Inventory Manager and be a vital part of our strategy for maximizing profitability. Because your role is new to us, you have ample opportunity to collaborate with your manager to define standards and processes that achieve our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

As Inventory Clerk, your mission is to do your best every day to make sure that production does not stop because a material cannot be found, or because the inventory system does not reflect the actual on hand quantities.

Your five most important responsibilities are:

  • Safety.
  • Accurately receive, process, and put away all shipments on the day of arrival.
  • Complete all cycle counts, inventories, and reconciliations on time.
  • Make sure that all raw material and finished goods storage locations are clearly marked, and that all raw materials and finished goods are correctly labeled.
  • Identify, flag, and stage or quarantine damaged, returned, or mis-ordered raw materials or finished goods, and initiate appropriate paperwork for final processing by the Purchasing and Inventory Manager or the Quality Team.

As Inventory Clerk, when time permits, you may have opportunity to work in the kitting and shipping departments, support the Quality Department, and assist Customer Service with inventory reduction initiatives.

Related daily responsibilities include:

  • Keeping all areas that you work in clean and organized.
  • Returning unused materials and supplies to their correct location(s).
  • Daily safety checks of forklift and other load handling equipment. (shared)
  • Operating a forklift to unload shipments. (shared)

Qualifications

  • Previous inventory and warehouse responsibilities (2+ years preferred).
  • Strong basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing).
  • Excellent attention to detail, e.g., data entry of ordered vs. received quantities, etc.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and the drive to get it done.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to be on your feet and mobile for most of each day.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. as an individual, and team-lift 80 lbs.
