Cherokee Park Rehabilitation is seeking housekeeping/laundry aides to join our team!

A housekeeper will clean resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, storage, work rooms, therapy, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, clean toilets, sinks, showers, dust, empty trash & disinfect

General Responsibilities include:

• Dust ceiling vents, lights, & other areas regularly
• Disposes of trash and waste, other materials in a safe manner
• Complete carpet cleaning as scheduled
• Clean vacant rooms immediately after discharge
• Assist in room transfers
• Attend facility in-services and training
• Assure personal & staff compliance to all State & Federal regulations including blood born pathogen control, use of hazardous materials & fire safety
• May be required to perform light maintenance, including changing light bulbs, checking call lights
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral form) in a care setting with residents, families, staff
• Must be able to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, reach and carry, stand for extended periods of time and may be required to move furniture
• Able to respond productively and to handle additional tasks/projects as assigned
• Ability to detect odors and see spots and spills
• Ability to move housekeeping cart with cleaning equipment
• Passion for caring for elderly
