Madison Bar & Bistro Line Cook
Department: Food & Beverage Reports to: F&B Director
Position Summary:
Prepares meals for assigned detail of breakfast, dinner, banquets, or buffets. Assures that quality food product is always presented to our guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Percent
● Wears proper uniform and name tag while on duty.
● Promotes proper sanitation and safety for guests and employees.
● Observes proper food handling techniques as required by hotel and health department.
● Maintains highest level of sanitation in preparation methods.
● Keeps freezer and cooler in order and properly stores and rotates food items.
● Keeps all kitchen equipment clean during his/her shift.
● Cleans all areas to their initial starting status at the end of the shift.
● Assists in maintaining safety and security within the kitchen.
● Checks banquet event orders to assist chef in preparation.
● Performs methods of preparation, portion control, and garnishing of dishes according to standards.
● Consistent in preparation of menu items per standard recipes.
● May assist by performing dishwashing or other kitchen duties on an “as needed” basis.
● Cleans other equipment as directed by manager.
● Maintains good personal hygiene habits.
● Follows all company policies as they relate to pertinent areas.
● Maintains a professional appearance.
● Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or its equivalent, with 0-1 year of experience in field.
● Previous food preparation and cooking skills are required.
● Ability to safely operate sharp instruments and hazardous equipment (slicers, etc.)
● Able to stand, carry, lift, stoop, bend, reach, clean during shift.
● Able to lift up to 25 pounds (plates, pots, pans, etc.)
● Good communication skills to be able to interact with staff.
● Ability to safely use mild chemicals for cleaning bar/lounge area.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
