Clean Harbors in Manassas, VA is seeking a Part-Time Household Hazard Waste Technician III (Events) responsible for growing the CleanPack and Treatment and Disposal business within an assigned territory. This role will develop and execute a sustainable business plan by working in conjunction with the Regional Sales and Operations personnel. This role will cover all of Prince William County.

Clean Harbors facilitates thousands of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and pesticide collection programs throughout North America, collecting paints, solvents, batteries, fluorescent lamps, pesticides, cleaners and other hazardous materials.
Schedule will be:
Wednesdays and Saturdays from about 7:00am to 6:00pm, must be available to work both days
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-Years of experience as a Household Hazardous Waste Technician or related experience
  • Attention to detail, able to take and follow direction, and to perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to interface with customers
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical

Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Must have previous hazardous waste disposal experience

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the site is set up and opened by 9:00am
  • Keep inventory of waste shipping and supplies needed. Email to Laurel branch after each event.
  • Schedule e-waste shipments with vendor/order supplies as needed
  • Schedule battery pickups with the county/order supplies as needed
  • Complete labor worksheet each event
  • Track # of residents and ensure tickets are collected from them during each event
  • All waste is properly closed and stored in hazardous waste storage area at the end of each event.
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
