WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Footwear Technical Developer 2 to be an integral part of our Footwear Product Team and help drive product excellence for the North America consumer! As a Footwear Tech Developer 2, this person will provide project and process direction, within the project team, at an accelerated pace and close to market. The ideal candidate needs to have demonstrated project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a product development environment. In addition, we’re looking for people that are self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, great teammates, and exhibit strong leadership skills. As a member of the North America, Global Express Lane team, this person will effectively establish relationships, lead, and interact with teams across Nike Footwear Product Creation and with teams comprising of diverse cultures across various geographies.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Footwear Tech Developer 2 for North America, Global Express Lane, you will…

• Work on existing footwear model projects with color, material, and graphic applications.
• Work on models across Men’s, Women’s, and Kids product, as well as across dimensions such as Lifestyle, Performance, and Jordan to create multi-model packs.
• Drive product and process excellence, within a collaborative team environment, for your assigned projects.
• Convert a project brief and 2D design tech pack into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the North America consumer and Global Express Lane business.
• Use your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence, by identifying and addressing key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing.
• Engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are handled according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability, sustainability targets, and product integrity requirements.
• Mentor and be a source of knowledge for the North America, Global Express Lane cross-functional team in all aspects of the product creation process.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As a member of the North America, Global Express Lane team, you will collaborate with key functional partners: Footwear Color/Material Design, Footwear Material Development, Product Management, Partner PCC and PMO Teams, Global Sourcing and Planning, and Operations Teams. You’ll need to navigate the Nike matrix to ensure that our processes model and match Global Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You are the key point of contact between our PCC/PMO partners and WHQ product team and must ensure that communication during the product development process is complete, clear, and accurate! This role reports to the Footwear Tech Development Manager for North America, Global Express Lane.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Industrial Design, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in a product creation or similar role, including Stretch Assignment(s) will be considered in addition to previous or current product creation role.
• Seasoned project manager with project management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
• Strong influencing skills and ability to champion complex projects both multi-functionally and vertically within the organization.
• Knowledge of product construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle.
• Demonstrates intermediate level understanding of Consumer Product or Hardgoods and knowledge:
• Footwear pattern engineering, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Identify & suggest cost effective solutions.
• Materials, test methods, and properties and application.
• Read technical drawings, sketches, and/or 3D digital files.
• General footwear chemistry.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
