The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research serves as a regional catalyst for economic transformation. The mission will be accomplished through applied research, advanced learning, economic development, advanced manufacturing, and conference services.

The Institute for Advanced Learning and research is currently looking for an experienced Food and Beverage Director to begin working in March.
Compensation:
$60,000 - $65,000 based on experience.

Job Description:
The role is responsible for planning and managing the Human Resources and operations of the Food & Beverage divisions to achieve customer (guest, employees, and corporate groups) satisfaction and quality service while meeting/exceeding financial goals.
Position is also responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the Food & Beverage operations in the front and back of the house. Develops and recommends the budget, marketing plan and objectives and manages within those approved plans.
Duties Include:
- Manage the Human Resources within the division.
- Direct and oversee the selection, hiring, scheduling and training of qualified employees.
- Conduct effective department meetings and counseling sessions.
- Ensure timely performance and salary reviews are conducted for all food & beverage employees.
- Monitor service and teamwork on a regular basis.
- Resolve problems, provide open communications and recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate.
- Provides high quality service and product to guests while adhering to budget constraints by managing the department in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality are provided to guests at all times.
- Ensure events and outlets are managed in compliance with safety regulations and Federal, State and local regulations.
- Ensure all employees follow safety rules and procedures.
- Ensure guest complaints are handled tactfully.
- Forecast, implement, monitor, control and report on the budget and its components.
- Develop division’s budget.
- Maximize revenue and minimize expenses while ensuring adequate supplies and staff are on hand to provide top quality guest service.
- Ensure inventory is controlled.
- Prepare reports as requested to develop a more improved database for improved management decisions.
- Market the food & beverage outlets.
- Respond to guest trends, needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.
- Develop and manage the implementation of menus, package deals, promotions, displays, decorations and presentations to capture more in-house guests and a larger share of the local market.
- Monitor and control the maintenance/sanitation of all food and beverage areas and equipment to protect assets, comply with regulations and ensure quality service.
Experience Required:
- Must have experience working in Food and Beverage.
