Regional Operations Manger

JOB SUMMARY:

As a WellNow Field Training Lead, you will be a vital part of the team and will maintain the "path" between the front end and clinical side of operations. You will be a part of a team that is dedicated to improving the delivery and quality of healthcare to our Urgent Care patients, while being part of a medical community in which you are supported in your growth as a medical professional.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Clinical Support Duties:

  • Responsible for taking patient history and obtaining vital signs
  • Perform basic testing or screenings such as: vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing
  • Perform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples, if certified
  • Accurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples
  • Perform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels
  • Assist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D's and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation)
    • Once trained, able to place simple performed splints on patients
  • Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA)
  • Logs laboratory procedures when completed, processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed
  • Maintains par levels of supplies in each exam room
  • Performs ECG's on patients when ordered by the provider

Paramedic PCT Duties:

  • Takes on delegated tasks from clinical lead
  • Performs all aspects of the role to standards and with efficiency; an expert in some or many areas and actively coaches new employees and contributes to their growth
  • Completes all required training on time, stays up to date on changes, quickly learns new or updated procedures and ensure others can complete correctly
  • Serves as a preceptor to new team employees and can clearly educate on role-based tasks to assist new hires in obtaining competencies
  • Move between sites when requested and comfortable in changing situations
  • Informal leader in the clinic, role model that ensure a strong operation in the clinic, models WellNow values, builds a positive team culture, and strongly supports the operational leaders
  • An expert at the role, helps solve challenging situations and looked to for advice, coaches new hires and helps build their skills
  • Contributes across all areas of the clinic, including multiple delegated tasks
  • Serve as an expert on all competencies and is able to sign off on competencies for New Hire, Level 1, and Level 2 PCT's
  • Able to start IV's on patients when ordered by the provider (if trained under license or certification)
  • Able to give medications to patients and follows the five rights of medication administration
  • Serves as the field training specialist for their multi-site manager
  • Maintains records of all field training and works with Manager, Operations Field Training to keep training up-to-date
  • Runs monthly training sessions for Level 2 PCT's to ensure that they are able to appropriately precept new hire PCT's and Level 1 PCT's

Registration Duties:

  • Greet all patients with a smile and welcome them to WellNow
  • Collect insurance information on each patient and run Real-Time-Eligibility (RTE)
    • Collect the appropriate co-pays from the patient based on RTE results
  • Accurately complete the registration information in an efficient manner
  • Printing, scanning and faxing of documents and reports
  • Answers phones in a polite manner and triages calls as necessary
  • At the end of each day:
    • Complete the Save and Finalize process
    • Ensure all patients are assigned to a provider or to nurse-visit

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Field Training Officer background recommended
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct or notify the appropriate leader
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Able to withstand physical & mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, and bending. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.
  • Computer knowledge and skills, must be able to register patients on the computer in a timely manner
  • Up-to-date on vaccinations, and provide documentation, as per OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to complete and maintain CPR certification
  • Excellent listening and note-taking skills
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardize work practices
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Strong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy
  • Capable of working well on a team
  • Friendly and customer service oriented
  • Ability to manage high call volume

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma required
  • Paramedic EMT completed coursework preferred

REQUIRED LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION

  • EMT-P Certification (by State) if paramedic trained

MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Close mental and visual attention required for planning or directing fairly complex work methods or operations that obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend, climb, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions of hands and/or wrists.
  • Requires some physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
