FBO CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
Status: Part-time Non-exempt
Supervisor: FBO Manager
SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to perform customer service functions relating to daily operation of the Meridian Aviation FBO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are required for this position. This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities assigned and required by management that it deems applicable, indicated, or necessary at any time, with or without notice.
- Greets and assists patrons with creative customer service.
- Answers the telephone; screens calls; provides information and assistance; takes and relays messages or directs calls to appropriate personnel; returns calls as necessary; communicates via two‐way radio as needed.
- Processes a variety of documentation associated with FBO operations, distributes, or retains records as appropriate.
- Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and make corrections; utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, financial, or other software programs.
- Communicates with supervisor, employees, airport personnel, passengers, visitors, vendors, sales representatives, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Conducts various errands as needed, such as picking up mail or transporting documentation/supplies and people.
- Orders and receives supplies, grocery items for FBO operation, FBO marketing materials and uniforms, and other items deemed necessary for FBO operation or for other benefit of the Authority, as directed by the FBO Manager or Authority President.
- Prepares, completes, or assists in the preparation of various forms, reports, correspondence, billing statements, purchase orders, income statements, schedules, or other documents.
- Performs housekeeping duties in order to keep the building clean at all times; ensures kitchen remains stocked, clean, and well-presented; performs other related duties reliably.
- Trains new employees and participates in training related to FBO operations as directed by FBO Manager, other FBO positions as needed; uses skills and knowledge gained to perform back up duties for any area of FBO operation needed or requested by FBO Manager.
- Assists Line Service Technicians with marshalling aircraft as needed, especially during high traffic periods.
- Responds to emergency situations after business hours when necessary.
- Provides assistance to other employees as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
PERFORMANCE APTITUDES AND REQUIREMENTS
Physical Presence: The presence of the employee or collaboration of the employee in person is required.
Data Utilization: Requires the ability to calculate and/or tabulate data and performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations.
Human Interaction: Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.
Physical Requirements: Stand/walk for most of the work shift. Perform repetitive job duties that require constant attention to operating process. Periodically push/pull containers weighing up to 50 pounds and lift containers up to 50 pounds. Climb to heights of up to 3 feet using a ladder while carrying weight of up to 20 lbs. Adjust to distractions and interruptions and handle multiple priorities simultaneously and safely.
Environment: Exposure to noise levels loud enough to require employees wear hearing protection. Occasional outdoors weather and temperature levels, fumes, vibration, etc., sufficient to cause minor discomfort, oily/wet conditions. Employees to wear protective eye wear, uniforms, and gloves as needed.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; plus, experience working with the public and some knowledge of in person and telephone business etiquette; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Candidates and employees must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age, fluently speak and read the English language, be authorized to legally work in the United States of America, and possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
