Full-time Experienced Medical Biller

Zerbe Retirement Community is a family run retirement community, operating for 64 years. We are seeking an experienced Full-time Experienced Medical Biller to work in our administrative office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, with the skills necessary to improve our current billing procedures and reduce A/R day, working accurately and timely. The successful applicant will work on a number of tasks requiring data analysis, in-depth evaluation and exercising judgment within the appropriate scope of practice. This full-time position comes with a full benefits package and competitive compensation.

Skills and Requirements

· High School Diploma and Associate degree or other medical billing training preferred

· 2+ years' experience as a Medical Biller in Long-Term Care/Retirement Community

· Excellent experience with Medicare

· Some knowledge of Medicaid billing a plus

· Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)

· Experience with Point, Click, Care a plus

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

· Able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines

· Excellent problem-solving skills, organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Duties and Responsibilities

· Monthly Billing of Managed Care and Medicare Claims

· Knowledge of Medicaid or willingness to cross train

· Follow up with payers to ensure timely processing of claims

· Work with the 3rd party billers to verify accurate billing of Medicare and Insurance billing

· Posting of cash receipts

· Electronically deposit checks

· Report and analyze patient accounts

· Research, review, and work outstanding claims on aging

· Prepared month end close file each month

· Manage resident funds and resident petty cash

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
