UC Health is hiring a Full-time Engineer- It Systems for the IS&T department for the First shift to work remotely within IN, KY, or OH.

Responsible for daily performance and operation of Industry-Standard Architecture (ISA) server based systems and services. Technical resource for immediate team and other IS&T associates.

Responsibilities

The IT engineer will be responsible for system operations, including implementing network Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) servers, operating systems and LAN based devices according to established procedures. They will also work with system architects to implement new systems and technologies, as well as performing necessary system maintenance and coordinating backup and recovery strategies. Additionally, they will need to work with end users, IS&T staff and vendors to determine system specifications, as well as monitoring performance to ensure appropriate service levels and implementing an annual system replacement process.
  • The IT Engineer will be responsible for maintaining necessary Patches, firmware, and version upgrades for IS&T systems. They will also be responsible for monitoring VPO and SIM Management Applications on systems, taking appropriate action to resolve issues, monitoring DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory functions, reviewing system logs, disposing of retired systems, and documenting work requests and incidents in the ticketing system as per department standard. Additionally, they will provide Break/Fix support to all IS&T Groups Administration.
  • The IT engineer will be responsible for overseeing software updates, monitoring disaster parts inventory, processing quotes and purchase requests for equipment procurement, tracking licenses and media, adhering to standard operating procedures and maintenance schedules, attending and participating in department staff, team, and individual meetings, and adhering to PMO processes and procedures.
  • The IT engineer will be responsible for the data center needs of our systems, such as power and network connectivity. They will also be responsible for documentation, system implementation and configuration, resource usage in PMO applications, providing detailed weekly status reports, maintaining the system configuration database, and tracking and documenting system uptime.


Qualifications
  • Minimum Required: Associate degree required
  • Bachelor degree preferred in related field combination of education required.
  • Preferred: 1 to 3 years of experience in IS&T
  • At least 1 year of experience in Systems preferred.
