Director of Performance Marketing

Reporting to the VP of Marketing Program Management, the Director of Performance Marketing is responsible for rapidly scaling our user acquisition efforts while simultaneously identifying areas to improve retention and engagement on our platform. You will lead the execution of our digital advertising efforts and develop ideas for improving the efficiency of our ad budgets, conversion rates, and user journey from awareness to decision. This person will also play an integral role in identifying marketing channels, solutions, and ideas to efficiently drive customer growth. This is an opportunity for a candidate with the ability to develop thorough testing plans, execute tests rapidly, and maintain a dedication to driving continuous improvement to have a meaningful impact by driving awareness and action around a true whitespace opportunity, farmland investing.
The ideal candidate for this position will have an advanced skill set with multiple ad platforms, including, but not limited to Meta, LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube, Google, and Bing. You will be responsible for end-to-end campaign management including research, collaborating with the design and writing teams, reporting, optimization, and identifying levers to fuel massive KPI growth. This role will require a solid data analysis background to enable you to test and identify inefficiencies within our advertising and product strategy and quickly iterate. You will be working within a startup environment that requires flexibility and nimbleness with good communication and willingness to make a real contribution to the team. As with any growing company, many other tasks and responsibilities should be expected, as well as growth opportunities to be seized.
Core Responsibilities:
Digital Advertising
Ability to organize your work into tests into a prioritized backlog of ideas to test with a clearly defined target metric or goal to improve user engagement and acquisition.
Scale user acquisition efforts at a rapid pace while maintaining the stability of our KPIs.
Build an efficient inbound customer generation engine by continuously testing channels, creative strategies, and targeting methods to fuel the growth of supply and demand for a two-sided marketplace.
Implement new creative marketing strategies and messaging to improve the efficiency of our ad spend and better educate, “warm up”, and convert leads throughout our unique customer journeys.
Data Analysis and Conversion Rate Optimization
Analyze the performance of our channels, sources, and conversion funnels to identify hypotheses around the levers we can pull to achieve our user acquisition and retention goals.
Effectively promote high retention experiences by partnering with multiple teams including sales, product, and functional leaders within our marketing department.
Boost conversion rates by identifying, and suggesting informed, data-driven on-page tests to improve key landing pages, and conversion funnels with our marketing operations and product team.
Identify key actions that lead to conversion in our supply and demand journeys to shorten our sales cycle and improve return on ad spend.
Key Competencies:
You are based in Northwest Arkansas or willing to relocate.
You have 5+ years of experience as a growth marketer or digital advertiser with thorough experience analyzing and optimizing digital advertising campaigns and their assets.
You are very data-driven and move quickly to test, optimize, and scale performance marketing campaigns.
You are capable of individually running the entire performance marketing function and are excited to do so until the workload justifies growing the team.
You have experience allocating large marketing budgets across a portfolio of channels to achieve maximum return on ad spend.
You have very strong analytical abilities. You are able to use complex SQL, Excel, and other tools with ease to analyze large data sets and generate thoughtful, actionable reports.
You have a strong understanding of the statistical significance and know how to run statistically valid multivariate tests.
You have demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, a marketing database, email, print, social media, pay-per-click, and/or display advertising campaigns.
You have an understanding of how to test and activate users along the customer journey.
You have an intermediate to advanced data analytics skill set with tools such as Google Analytics, Amplitude, Google Data Studio, SEMRush, Google Sheets, and HubSpot reporting.
You are able to take in large amounts of data from multiple inputs (leadership, users, engineers, PMs, the market, acquisition sources, costs, etc.) and distill that down into a clear vision and plan.
You possess an understanding of the elements of conversion rate optimization and previous work experience optimizing conversion rates to improve overall campaign performance.
You have experience in copywriting and testing to promote and prompt action.
You have an understanding of design elements and their role in conversion optimization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous marketing experience in finance, investing, and agriculture
Experience managing complex automation workflows for data hygiene, email execution, task creation, list management, and more
Experience with Segment CDP
Experience with HubSpot
Experience working in a startup environment
Experience with both SaaS and B2B marketing
Experience building in a product-led growth company
