Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Behavioral Health Access and Regional Operations will work closely COO, BH and other leaders across the North Carolina Division to execute on the vision and strategic plan. This role will be responsible for providing direct oversight and management of the daily operations of the patient access functions, clinical education, quality management, performance improvement, and all activities related to the assessment and disposition of behavioral health patients referred or presenting to the facility and throughout the continuum of care. This role is also responsible for providing clinical, financial and overall operating performance and successful growth with Mission as well the regional hospitals. This includes internal coordination across all areas for successful and sustainable implementation.

As a member of the management team, she/he participates in planning, policy development, priority setting, creating efficient and effective processes. A highly organized individual able to manage multiple projects. The director will have full operational responsibilities for departments/initiatives assigned by supervising executive.

Essential Accountabilities Include:

  • Provide administrative and operational leadership for assigned departments
  • Design, Pilot Test, and Evaluate Effective Behavioral Health Service Programs
  • Ensure compliance of Joint Commission, state, and federal guidelines, regulations and standards.
  • Acts as the liaison for behavioral health services to all stakeholders taking a lead role in process and performance improvement and the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Initiates and facilitates outreach activities designed to increase scope and reach in alignment with the division outreach activities.
  • Works collaboratively with all other departments including the sales team to respond to feedback, improve customer service, support the development of new programs and services, and to perform outreach activities as needed.


What qualifications you will need:

Required Education: Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Nursing, or other hospital related field


Preferred License: Current license to practice in the State of North Carolina, (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist); If candidate holds a nursing degree, must hold a valid North Carolina Nursing License

Required Experience: Five years’ experience in hospital management

Preferred Experience: Five years’ experience in behavioral health
