What you’ll do:

  • As an authentic brand ambassador for the Wayfair family, lead and create a best in class customer experience by connecting them with the world's biggest and best home online assortment brought to life in our stores.
  • Welcome customers, creating an inviting, best in class environment to experience the omni channel offering
  • Leverage your interior design and sales expertise in the furniture space to help our customers navigate through their design needs and purchases
  • Share your expertise in fabric & finishes, bringing awareness to performance, texture and durability characteristics as well as insights into trends, using tactile swatches as well as digital swatches to showcase extended aisle.
  • Be a resource for store team on design and color theory, mentoring those around you
  • Stay informed with marketplace and design industry trends
  • Guide customers through their design journey (pre-booked or walk-in), providing cuttings, take away materials as needed.
  • Introduce the online assortment and mobile web and app capabilities.
  • Primary host of scheduled design appointments - including preparation, design advice including endless aisle assortment, and appropriate follow up
  • Be an expert in the services offered in store and online - credit, financing, warranty, installation and delivery, always considering value adds to client purchases
  • Demonstrate confidence in closing the sale and educating customers on various ways to purchase including through POS, Online, our App or through a Quote
  • Foster and instill a culture of accountability and continuous feedback to promote a profitable, positive, and dynamic environment.
  • Utilize design tools, CRM software and client accounts for consistent customer experience and record keeping.
  • Navigate through multiple software applications, 3rd party and proprietary tools to provide customers with recommendations for their budget, style, use case and space
    • Including but not limited to: Mood Boards, Space Planning and 3D renderings
  • Meet or exceed your sales, customer satisfaction targets and other established KPIs
  • Efficiently manage your time in design appointments and sales floor interactions by prioritizing and always put the customer experience first, keeping communication open with sales floor leadership
  • Ask great questions that allow you to provide a complete sales solution for your customers
  • Exemplify a positive and professional attitude on a daily basis with customers and your team members
  • Bring a willingness to share innovative ideas and solutions to continuously improve team operations
  • Engage in a high energy, focused and dynamic work environment where there can be rapid changes in products, promotions, offerings and operations
  • Grow through world class training and continuous career development. You’ll be trained on our offerings, software, processes and supplier customizations and offerings
  • Participate in operational store activities as needed: bringing new products to the floor, floor sets, replenishment and substitutions
  • Design custom upholstery pieces by familiarizing yourself with high end manufacturer capabilities to deliver one of a kind luxury and recommend complementary products for the customer’s living room. (Relevant for Perigold & potentially WF)
  • As Keyholder, you are responsible for opening and closing the store
  • Acts as a liaison between the Home Office/Corporate and the stores to maintain consistent design experience.
  • Assists in training and coaching of Design Sales Advisors.

What you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of sales experience, Interior design , furniture, or home goods experience preferred.
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Guided design journey experience / passion
  • Understanding of design principles including spatial planning, fabric selection, interior design styles and trends
  • Passion for great customer service and a drive to exceed sales targets
  • Strong organization, self-motivation, communication and relationship management skills
  • Track record of thriving in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Strong desire to see the teams around you succeed
  • Demonstrated use of technology to drive business results, ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office applications and technical acumen to learn new business systems
  • All employees will be expected to represent the brand through polished communication, personal appearance and professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; regularly climb or balance; and frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly, frequently or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Hours:

At Wayfair and our family of brands, we strive to provide our employees with a work schedule that protects their work/life balance and takes their scheduling preferences into consideration. Please understand due to the nature of the retail industry, your shift schedule will vary. However, we will work to provide you with your schedule a minimum of 2 weeks in advance, and you will have the opportunity to trade with teammates as needed.

Our store hours are Monday-Thursday 10:00AM - 8:00PM, Friday-Saturday 10:00AM - 9:00PM and Sundays 11:00AM - 6:00PM. Employee shifts may include an hour before or after store hours.
