Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to in struct and supervise a diverse group of children by establishing a positive, respectful learning environment, providing ample and varied learning opportunities and promoting high standards of performance for all students regardless of their background and developmental levels.

Contract Status: Regular/Probationary
Start Date: 2023/2024 School Year August 29th, 2023
Calendar: 191 Work Days
Salary: $45,131 to $86,621 with benefits (This salary is based on the 2022-2023 salary agreement and is subject to change upon the 2023-2024 Salary agreement approval)
Retirement Contribution: Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. Upon eligibility, the district contributes 6% of an employee’s salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. - Valid Oregon teacher’s license.
- Understanding of human growth and development patterns, learning theory and brain research.
- Demonstrated competence in area(s) of special assignment.
- Five or more years teaching experience in the area of special assignment.
- Familiarity with local agencies and resources.
- Ability to work effectively with adults in a support role.
- Experience as a presenter in workshops to teachers desired.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of state and federal education laws and of student and staff rights.
- Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
- Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.
- Ability to direct the work of other staff members.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and collaboration efforts with staff and community.
- Ability to travel among district facilities as needed, and, if driving, the ability to meet district driving standards.
