Salient Software, Inc. is a leading Data Management and Analytics firm specializing in the Oil & gas industry. We are looking for a Data Governance analyst to work in a consulting role at our Oil & Gas clients in Houston, TX. This job requires three days per week of onsite work at the Greenway Plaza office in Houston, TX

Job Title: Data Governance analyst

Job Site: Houston, TX

Hours: M-F, 8 - 5

Travel: Up to 10%

Job Type: Contract (W2, 1099, or C2c)

Job duration: Until the end of 2023, with 6 month extensions.

Report to: Data Governance Lead

Role Description

We implement large Data Management and Analytics projects for our Oil & Gas clients, that result in enterprise-wide data governance and analytics for all business users across various business units within their organizations. The Data Governance analyst will be an integral part at our client project, and will be required to deliver lasting performance improvement by helping develop and adopt value-driven processes. This is a great opportunity for the individual to gain experience on an enterprise wide Data Governance project with cutting edge technologies.

Major Responsibilities:

• Manage list of stakeholders to identify influencers and those who are impacted
• Foster relationships and gain trust with program leaders
• Communicate with Data Owners and Data Stewards
• Assist with implementation of a Data Governance tool for stewardship management
• Implement effective Communication plans amongst the team and stakeholders for sharing information, responsibilities and progress.
• Assists in setting up training strategy and plans, based on our belief that users need to understand more than just the screens and clicks found in a new technology
• Turn complex technology implementation into manageable projects with strong user adoption
• Offer disciplined rollout and planning to successfully handle the great number of transitions occurring during the implementation rollout phase
• Document all findings using sophisticated documentation techniques
• Establish, communicate, and maintain DG policies and documentation

Required Skills

• At least 1 year experience with Data Governance at large/complex organizations
• Oil & Gas or Chemical industry experience a plus
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Visio experience
• Understanding of Data Management and usage
• At least one data related project experience
• Solid experience with Documentation
• Knowledge of information gathering, planning, and organizing methods and principles
• Excellent Interpersonal skills
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills
• Highly self-motivated and self-directed
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
• BA/BS degree in Business Administration, MIS, or similar field
