I. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for all aspects of the credentialing, re-credentialing and privileging processes for
all medical providers who provide patient care at Central Ohio Urology Group (COUG) and
Central Ohio Urology Group Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). Responsible for ensuring
providers are credentialed, appointed, and privileged with health plans, hospitals and patient
care facilities. Maintain up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases and
online systems; ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications. Responsible for the
Company Vision “To be the prominent urology practice in central Ohio, and beyond, with a
reputation for delivering excellent and effective care in all urologic modalities. By providing
full-service urology to the patients and communities we serve, there will be greater
satisfaction as well as patient and physician loyalty which will allow COUG continued
success and growth.”

II. QUALIFICATIONS:
A. REQUIRED
- Three (3) years of experience working in a medical practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) designation
- Electronic Medical Records Experience
- Associates degree in health care or business administration preferred
III. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications on all physicians
- Maintains copies of current state licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage
- Ensures all clinical staff licensures and certificates are current
- Perform daily follow-up and research concerning credentialing inquiries as requested
- Review applications received from physicians and allied health professionals for
- Obtain verification of licensure, education/training, board certification, malpractice
- Maintain credentialing database by updating information
- Enroll all new locations and new hire clinicians in participating insurance plans
- Willing to travel to other COUG locations for business needs
- Maintains strictest confidentiality
