Job description
The Cook prepares ingredients and recipes used in production of patient, cafeteria and special catering meals utilizing computerized production sheets and food preparation equipment in compliance with sanitation and safety principles set forth by DNV and NYS Health Department.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required and 2 years cooking experience.
- 2 year culinary degree preferred.
- Demonstrated high regard for sanitation.
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to perform basic math functions.
- Able to interpret recipes, measure and weigh items.
- Able to work in a stressful, busy environment and handle many tasks efficiently at one time.
- Able to communicate with fellow production staff, servers and managers about ingredients for recipes and quality of product.
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations
Certificate of sanitation preferred.
