The Contract Administration Specialist will support the Revenue Cycle Management team by acting as a liaison between AMR operations and AMR's ambulance billing vendor. Normal activities will include processing rate increases, interpreting new and existing contracts and providing AMR operations and the ambulance billing vendor with the information needed to ensure all rate adjustments are processed timely and accurately. This individual will also be responsible for validating information contained in the contract database and billing system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Maintain high level of both written and oral communication with internal departments, as well as external client contacts.
  • Communicate effectively and work with the following departments:
  • Operations - coordinate changes to contract and usual and customary rates (UCR) based on the information received in AMRs contract database.
  • Pre-Billing Pods - provide updates on the status of contracts or other changes that may impact processes currently used to determine the primary payor and/or the need for additional billing information prior to submitting a transport to AMRs billing vendor for processing
  • Communications (Dispatch) Centers - research existing and/or submit requests for new Location and Customer/Caller codes that will be used during patient care documentation and billing processes.
  • MEDS Team - research existing and/or submit requests for new Location and Customer/Caller codes that will be used during patient care documentation and billing processes.
  • Legal Department - provide updates on the status of contracts as requested, as well as any reports that may be required.
  • Business Development - provide guidance/training on required updates to the contract database.
  • Billing Vendor - provide completed contract fact sheets, which detail contract terms and pricing.
  • Complete thorough review of all new contracts. Ensure ambulance billing vendor has all the necessary information to load accurate contract terms in the billing system or Oracle.
  • Solve problems and provide training on contract database processes, as well as other contract implementation processes.
  • Facilitate conference calls when needed.
  • Complete all special projects as assigned.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of all software applications that affect the contract and enrollment processes.
  • Use office machines, computer software and the company computer system.
  • Adhere to and comply with Information Systems security. Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures, and report security problems. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: One year experience in third party billing; knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations recommended. Experience related to contract billing/administration preferred.

Education:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Management or Business Administration preferred.
