Description:

The Clinical Research Scientist is part of Global Clinical Affairs supporting conduct of clinical trial programs comprised of several pilot and pivotal trials in thoracic (e.g. lung), CNS (e.g. GBM), GYN (e.g. ovarian), and GI (e.g. pancreatic and hepatocellular) cancers.

Focus of this position is on the scientific training of and communication with clinical trial investigators, co-investigators and their staff involved in clinical research of Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields). (Clinical trial investigators refers to both active and potential candidate investigators on clinical trials).

This role will allow the employee to support the clinical development of a novel technology that has potential to shift the treatment paradigm in oncology.

This is a full-time, exempt, field-based role reporting to the Senior Manager, Clinical Research Scientist, Clinical Affairs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deep understanding of scientific data related to TTFields, including familiarity with device and arrays
  • Development of strong and productive relationships with clinical investigators and their staff on ongoing and planned clinical studies.
  • Appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information related to company’s clinical program
  • External communication with investigators and clinical research professionals during conferences, scientific meetings, symposia, webinars and individual meetings with a focus on the clinical trial(s) they are responsible for to support company objectives including site initiation visits and investigator meetings.
  • Partnership and collaboration with One oncology and the larger Novocure teams including medical affairs, clinical operations, clinical development and safety teams across the development spectrum including achieving good study conduct and launch preparations in line with company objectives. Support Competitive Intelligence (CI) and disease treatment trends, as feasible
  • Partnership and collaboration with clinical development and the one oncology teams including:
    • Input in the clinical protocol development
    • Input on data related to DSMB
    • Act as the first point of contact for clinical and medical clarification from investigative sites
    • Support clinical patient enrollment efforts
    • Ensure compliance in conduct of all Novocure sponsored studies
    • Support clinical trial data cleaning activities
    • Ensure compliance with local country regulations where the conduct of clinical trial is

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD or PharmD)
  • At least 2 years in combined oncology and/or industry experience in a similar position
  • Previous experience in oncology is preferred
  • Medical/scientific and clinical research knowledge (academic clinical experience counts)
  • Very good presentation skills
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
  • Able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escalate issues when necessary
  • Able to work efficiently and collaboratively under pressure
  • Flexible, ability to adapt easily to changing work environment and travel regularly (>60% travels)
