Description
The Chemical Dependency Counselor functions as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The Counselor provides individual, group and family counseling services along with case management and comprehensive discharge planning to the chemically dependent patient. Treatment planning conducted in collaboration with referents; family and other service providers. Performs liaison/outreach activities as needed
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Requirements: A minimum of 3-5 years experience in providing counseling services to chemically dependent patients and their families. A Credentialed Alcoholism or Substance Abuse Counselor preferred or CASAC eligible and actively seeking state credentialing as an alcoholism and substance abuse counselor or other relevant health professional. Works closely with the members of the interdisciplinary team as well as admissions and administrative staff. Extensive contact with chemically dependent patients and their family or significant other; social services agents; judicial system and wide array of community recovery supports.
