Title: Carl Perkins Special Populations Coordinator/Professional Development Administrative

Job Duties: Reports to Director of Professional Development, to the Deans of Applied Sciences, and to the
Dean of Liberal Arts. Carl D. Perkins: assist students in applying for Perkins services; process and review
Perkins applications for special population students; process student child care and travel vouchers;
maintain lending library and inventory; prepare expenditure reports and assist in preparing quarterly
reports; prepare/update marketing materials; maintain student database and files; monitor grant
compliance.
Professional Development: prepare travel and meeting arrangements, agendas and minutes; produce
emails, work special projects; enter, maintain and update data primarily in software applications with
some paper formats; respond to phone calls and emails; take messages and field questions from faculty
and staff. Maintain and facilitate effective use of calendars and deadlines to coordinate work flow,
dissemination of information and meetings. Responsible for other duties and assignments deemed
necessary to efficiently operate and manage the offices. Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of student,
staff, and college information.

Salary: Clerical Schedule Group III; 12-month position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate’s Degree preferred.

Experience & Training: Minimum three years’ full-time experience in a business position of similar
responsibility level. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with a high degree of computer competency
and adaptability.

Additional Qualification Requirements: Must have excellent English, writing, and oral communication
skills. Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience to communicate and
demonstrate the essential functions of the job, including problem solving, self-motivation, organization
and time management skills. Experience working with diverse populations. Candidate must be authorized
to work in the U.S. and must provide verifiable credentials; successful completion of reference and
background checks specified for the position. Must have a valid Driver's License and be insurable through
SWTJC insurers. Travel may be required to other locations served by the college.
