Responsibilities Oversee the planning, management and implementation of 4EVER TEXAS sport alumni engagement events and initiatives with the goal of enhancing overall letterwinner engagement and student-athlete development programs including, but not limited to: mentoring, professional and alumni networking, job shadowing, internships and externships. Work with Engagement Coordinator to oversee the planning and coordination of signature events for letterwinners and current student?athletes, including Texas Athletics’ Hall of Honor, Longhorn Honors, T-Ring Toast, Olympian related events and sport specific reunions. Maintain a calendar of events for sport alumni across all sports. Work with Engagement Coordinator to oversee tracking and verification of student-athlete lettering and the ordering and distribution of letter awards to student-athletes and T-Rings recipients. Oversee planning and management of events related to honoring and recognizing letter award and T-Ring recipients. Plan and oversee communication and marketing of programs targeting alumni involvement and engagement for critical student-athlete development (SADV) initiatives through the 4EVER TEXAS program. Oversee creation, implementation, recruitment and tracking of alumni volunteer support activities for 4EVER TEXAS including mentoring, career, professional networking, sport alumni advisory council and football gameday hospitality. Provide leadership support for Texas Athletics Hall of Honor and Longhorn Honors related nomination, selection and voting processes. Manage online, social media and web-based platforms to enhance letterwinner engagement, communication and participation in 4EVER TEXAS programs (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, et Al.) including Texas Athletics’ content, jobs, alumni profiles, upcoming job fairs, panels or other sport alumni inclusive events. Budget management including, but not limited to, signature events, sport alumni recruitment and stewardship of alumni involved in volunteer 4EVER TEXAS student-athlete development initiatives. Oversee coordination of gameday volunteers as needed for any letterwinner game day hospitality and coordinate with internal staff for on-field recognitions involving sport alumni. Other related duties as assigned. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Big 12, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Has held responsibility for developing and executing programming and initiatives to drive sport alumni engagement and outcomes related to higher education alumni participation. Has clearly demonstrated success in enhancing alumni collaboration and alumni engagement in connection with organizational initiatives and programs. Demonstrates clear knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of organizing and executing volunteer programming and initiatives. Demonstrates clear understanding of the unique nature of athletics alumni relations. Demonstrates ability to develop a working knowledge of, or ability to learn, the institution, its alumni, traditions, goals, policies and procedures. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrates ability to work with boards or committees, preferably in a leadership role. Demonstrates ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate on projects and assignments. Experience leading and supervising others. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience working at the University of Texas at Austin. Minimum of 3 years’ responsibility for developing and executing programming and initiatives to drive engagement and outcomes related to higher education alumni. Experience in alumni, donor, and community engagement and relations. Former student-athlete or has worked closely with student-athletes. At least 3 years of experience in coordinating events. Skill in project management, including event planning, organizing volunteer programming and meeting deadlines, setting priorities and following through on multiple projects concurrently. Skill in implementing and executing programs, including the ability to reach predetermined goals and objectives within budget and under time constraints. Excellent organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, including sound judgment and decision-making.
